Simona Ventura and the stars of the well known Italian reality show Isola dei Famosi (Island of the Famous) chose the Hotel Piccola Baita in 2006, 2007 and 2008 as a holiday retreat before the start of the programme.
“…Molveno, an extraordinary location for the cast of Isola dei Famosi, was jam-packed. The white sand, lapped by the blue-green waters of the picturesque Lake Molveno reminds you a little of Cayo Palma, the island where the 12 VIPs will be stranded on 16 September. While Molveno is set among the spectacular slopes of the Brenta Dolomites, the reality show island is a tiny key in the Cayo Cochinos archipelago, a tropical paradise in the biological reserve which protects one of the most precious reefs in the Caribbean. But at the moment, it’s this tiny corner of Trentino that hosts the full cast of the programme, who have 3 days to get to know each other while staying at the picturesque Hotel Piccola Baita in Molveno. For the first time, the 12 future shipwreck survivors find themselves in the same place, to take part in a mini-course in survival before setting out for the island. Yesterday was dedicated entirely to the press, photo shots, video clips and, behind closed doors in the evening, to a lesson in survival, a prelude to today, when the 12 VIPs will put their skills to the test in the Forest Park.
The morning was spent on the banks of Lake Molveno, where the photographers were let loose under a cloudless sky.
The host at lunchtime was the provincial councillor Tiziano Mellarini. The fantastic menu was typical Trentino, with delicious cold meats, risotto flavoured with Teroldego wine and pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and speck, polenta, mushrooms and strudel, all washed down with Marzemino, sparkling Cavit and Surgiva mineral water”.
